WHAT’S THE EPISODE ABOUT…

Welcome back to the Unleashed podcast, I’m your host Kristina Sjolund, and I want to thank you for taking the time to listen in today. If you are building any type of a business, whether it’s a brick and mortar, online or network marketing, you need to have a tribe, you’ve gotta have a team of people, and that goes for whether they are business building people, to employees, or even customers.

So today, that’s what we’re going to talk about, and I guarantee that by the end of this podcast, you are going to understand the importance of connection.

So when you are connecting, you are building relationships.

That’s what we need to do in order to create a customer base, create a team of employees, or create a team of business builders, if you’re in a network marketing company.

Now when starting a business, how do you make it grow, by building connections through relationships. Those relationships and those connections strengthen as you build a trust. And then how do you build that trust? They have to know you. So who are you?

How do companies build a trust with us?

They put a person as their spokesperson, Flo from Progressive to or even the guy Kenny, ‘Can You Hear Me Now’. That character, those people, the companies create those characters so that we relate, and it’s sort of, in a weird way, builds a trust. Because we relate to those people, and the company knows that. If you relate to those people, then you’ll go and shop at that company.

And I’m not saying to hire someone, because that someone is you. People want to know you, they wanna know who you are, what do you do? Share those things.

I find that when I share something that’s more on the personal side, and it’s something that I believe strongly in, it creates a lot of engagement and that also draws people to you. But it also draws people away from you. It pushes them away because sometimes they don’t agree with you. So unfortunately that happens, but there will be a stronger engagement with the connection of those people who relate to you.

SHOW NOTES:

• The employer is looking for that connection to build a strong team, the stronger the connection they have with a person, the stronger their team becomes… And so they want more team members like that. How strong is a team where there’s a lack of connection? It’s not very strong. (04:17)

• You have everything, you have a beautiful home, you have all these nice cars. Why would you even be interested in this? And do you know what his answer was to her? Time freedom. And his friends, his connections, the people who he had relationships with, all felt the same way. They have things, but what good are all of those things when you can’t spend time with your family, and enjoy those things with your family? (8:41)

• You don’t know what’s going on in their life. You don’t know that that person who goes and works at a job every single day with a briefcase, they drive up in a high-end Mercedes and they seem to have it all. Maybe they’re tired of going to that job every single day, maybe they’re tired of putting in 12 to 14 hour days, maybe they’re tired of not being able to take vacations, real vacations with their family, because they’re constantly having to take phone calls. And if somebody says No, or turns you down, that’s okay. (9:26)

• Don’t make up somebody’s mind for them, because I’ll tell you that some of my customers who have wanted to maybe, they didn’t know enough about my product yet. But as they learned more about it, people’s first reaction is, I can’t afford it, or I don’t have the money for that, I don’t want to spend the money on that, but when they get to a point or they actually try it such as myself. I remember I thought, “Oh my gosh, I will never go a day without this in my life, I need this, I have to afford it no, I can’t afford it, I have to afford it. (10:26)

• Find your tribe and build that tribe. The stronger your tribe, the stronger your business grows. And then nurture it. That’s the time to nurture it, to grow it, to keep it healthy, to communicate, whether it be three Zooms or calls strengthening those connections, and then growing more and building more connections and teaching those connections to build more connections. And that’s going to ensure your growth, and those who choose to continue the growth will duplicate that and bring more connections, and your tribe will be built. (12:40)
